One of the four industrial estates in Mysore will come under the jurisdiction of the Mysore City Corporation (MCC).
A direction to handover the industrial estate to the civic body was given to Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa in Mysore on Tuesday while reviewing the district’s progress at a meeting of officials. He did not specify the estate that is to be handed over.
He also instructed the DC not to spare anyone who have encroached government lands in and around Mysore. Welcoming the steps taken to evict encroachments on 250 acres, he suggested engaging lawyers to fight legal issues and fencing the lands taken possession.
“The government supports illegal clearance of its lands. Take stern action and throw out illegal occupants,” he said, promising release of Rs 1 crore for the purpose. While assuring release of remaining funds out of Rs 100 crore special grant by him, he asked the MCC not to waste the money on small and sundry works, which can be met with MCC funds, but to make use of the grant for tangible development of Mysore.
Around 100,000 illegal LPG connections had come to light in Mysore district, the chief minister said adding such illegal connections took away subsidy part of the government money and affected development works. Hence, strict action should be taken against such illegal gas connections.
He promised to give clearance for R T Nagar and Lalithadripura layout proposal sent to the government by the Mysore Urban Development Authority soon and said sites would be allotted in the next three months. Similarly, proposal to green 500 acres on Chamundi Hills would also be cleared. Additional Rs 1.3 crore would be released for mini-Vidhana Soudha in Mysore work on which had come to stop.
