The officers’ association of National Aluminium Company (Nalco) have decided to go on hunger strike from January 30 due to lack of response from the company management on issues like salary, perks, leave, house rent and promotions.
“Office bearers have expressed to go on hunger strike from January 30 if the management does not solve their problems.
The management will be solely responsible if any untoward incident happens,” said a release from the Nalco Corporate Officers’ Association.
The association has warned to go on ‘work under protest’ very soon. The officers of the Central public service undertaking (PSU) have also shown their resentment by wearing black badges on January 11.
It may be noted that the officers’ association on December 12, 2011, had urged the management to solve the long-pending issues.
Nalco had reported profit slump in the July-September quarter.
