Chennai-based infrastructure and contractual mining company, NAPC Ltd, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Lackeby Water Group of Sweden. The Swedish company will help NAPC build, design and maintain water treatments plants in Tamil Nadu.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, NAPC director Varun Manian said the company had bid for four water management projects in the state and the tie-up would help them in executing the projects smoothly.
The joint-venture — NAPC-PURAC — would bid for all types of water projects in the country, Manian said.
NAPC had recently bid for three water management projects worth Rs 300 crore in the state apart from a mega desalination project at Nemali, which is a Rs 900-1,000 crore project. While the desalination project is likely to be cleared by the government in the next four months, other project would be cleared in the next two months.
“We are also looking for another technical partner from Europe for the desalination project,” said Manian.
