The National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) has requested the Centre to take up four major initiatives to help the industry achieve its long-term target of $70-80 billion revenues.
The initiatives include setting up a single nodal agency, such as the Investment and Development Agency Ireland or Economic Development Board in Singapore, to formulate policies, conducting marketing events to promote the quality image of the country, promoting foreign direct investment through tailor-made tax incentives and financial grants and supporting overseas companies.
The other major initiatives sought by Nasscom include setting up infrastructural facilities by the government for incubation of start-ups, clearing regulatory hurdles for consolidation.

The industry body has also urged the government to appoint one nodal agency as the owner of e-governance. The states should constitute an empowered e-governance committee with technocrats and draft a clear roadmap for e-governance, it has suggested.
