NDTV still in the red

Delhi-based news broadcaster NDTV posted a net loss of Rs 17 lakh for the fourth quarter ended March 31 compared with a net loss of Rs 1.97 crore during the corresponding quarter last year.
 
The company's total income during the quarter increase by 27.47 per cent to Rs 67.60 crore from Rs 53.03 crore in the year-ago period. The operating profit stood at Rs 5.47 crore, up 118.8 per cent compared with Rs 2.50 crore during the period under review.
 
For the year ended March 31, NDTV recorded a net loss of Rs 6.89 crore compared with Rs 6.25 crore last year. The total income during the year rose by 21.80 per cent to Rs 236.48 crore from Rs 194.15 crore, while the operating profit dropped from Rs 17.95 crore to Rs 9.47 crore.
 
During the year, NDTV Networks, a 100 per cent subsidiary of NDTV, was incorporated to seize the opportunities in the entertainment space - entertainment, lifestyle, media technology and outsourcing. NDTV Imagine has been incorporated to foray into the television segment.
