FMCG major Nestle India today said its net profit declined 6.74 per cent to Rs 112.92 crore in the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2009, over the corresponding period a year ago.
The company had a net profit of Rs 121.09 crore during the same quarter last year, Nestle India said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Total income rose to Rs 1,362.35 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 1,103.01 crore in the same period previous year.
For the year ended December 31, 2009, net profit jumped to Rs 655 crore from Rs 534.08 crore in the previous year.
Total income of the company climbed up to Rs 5,167.17 crore in the year under review from Rs 4,358.13 crore during the previous fiscal.
The board of directors recommended a final dividend of Rs 12.50 per equity share of Rs 10 each. This is in addition to two interim dividends for 2009 of Rs 9 and Rs 27 per share paid in May and November 2009, respectively.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 2,642.25, marginally down from previous close on the BSE.
