Packaged food maker Nestle India today said its net profit during the first quarter ended March 31 grew 23.19 per cent to Rs 197.30 crore over the corresponding period a year ago.
The company had a net profit of Rs 160.15 crore in the March quarter last financial year, Nestle India said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income of the company rose to Rs 1,276.16 crore during Q1 of FY09 from Rs 1,097.17 crore of same quarter last year.
On Wednesday, shares of Nestle India closed at Rs 1,702, down 0.13 per cent on the BSE.
