Nestle, JK Paper, JK Cement & Sundram Fasteners Q2 results

Saddled with a steep rise in prices of commodities, fuels and higher operating costs that impacted margins, consumer goods major Nestle India has reported a 11.2 per cent rise in its net profit which stood at Rs 82.98 crore for the quarter ended September 30,2006.
 
In the corresponding quarter last year, net profit stood at Rs 74.59 crore.
 
JK Paper bottomline up 20%
 
Riding on increased prices of product categories and efficiencies in operation, JK Paper, a leader in branded paper with 40 per cent market share, has reported 20 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 9.68 crore for the quarter ended September 30 compared with Rs 8.07 crore in the same quarter last year.
 
JK Cement net up at Rs 34 crore
 
JK Cement has reported a whopping 594 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 34 crore for the quarter ended September 30 this year Rs 4.9 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
 
The rise in profit was on the back of increased sales of white cement and better realisation from grey cement.
 
Sundram Fasteners net surges 85%
 
Sundram Fasteners has posted a whopping 85 per cent growth in net profit for the second quarter of 2006-07 (ended September 30) at Rs 25.44 crore compared with Rs 13.72 crore in Q2 of the previous year.
 
The rise in profit was on the back of higher volume of sales "� both domestic and exports, a company statement said.
