Days Inn Deccan will be the latest addition to Chennai's hospitality industry. The three-star hotel, which is coming up in the heart of the city, will be thrown open to the public by the end of August. |
Promoted by the city-based Deccan Agency group, the hotel is being set up with an investment of Rs 30 crore. Its operation has been contracted to Auromatrix Hotel Private Limited, the local hotel management licensee of US-based Days Inn Worldwide Inc. |
In August, the hotel will be opened with only five floors comprising 48 rooms and some of its other facilities. The launch of the full-fledged capacity, however, will be after six months. |
With a built-up area of 1.1 lakh sq ft, the hotel was located on a property of three grounds. On completion, the hotel will have nine floors with 102 rooms, two restaurants, two conference halls, couple of banquet halls, besides a rooftop multi-purpose banquet facility, a bar and a health club. |
The tariff has been fixed at Rs 1,800 for the double rooms (with no differentiation of single occupancy), and the eight suites will be offered for Rs 3,500 each. |
Wearing a clear tag of 'vegetarian', the hotel will offer its residents multi-cuisine options from across the country and abroad. |
The hotel will evidently be banking upon its locational value being in the heart of the city " four kilometres from the Chennai Central Station, 14 kilometres from the airport, or a five-minute drive from the Marina Beach. |
Deccan Agency Group, led by H Anraj, has interests in real estate, lotteries and convention centres. Another director Rajesh S Jain, who is into importing business, will be sourcing the fittings and some other amenities for the hotel. |
