In order to aid Indian companies in acquiring energy assets overseas and build strategic partnerships with foreign companies, the ministry of external affairs is setting up a new division of energy security.The division would sensitise and assist companies in identifying possible opportunities abroad, minister of state for external affairs Anand Sharma told Rajya Sabha in a written reply.The division would also help corporates in acquiring energy assets overseas and building strategic partnerships with foreign companies. It is also aimed at promoting transfer of new and emerging energy technologies to India, and create an interface with leading energy security think tanks and experts in India.
