Every September broadcasters from around the world, especially from Europe, gather in Amsterdam for the annual International Broadcasting Convention (IBC).
This has over the years become a major exhibition and conference that encompasses TV, radio and digital entertainment.
Along with events like MICOM/MIPTV (Cannes), NAB /NATPE (Las Vegas) and CASBAA (Hong Kong) these are occasions not only for networking but also for learning about new technologies and trends in the ever expanding global broadcasting and digital entertainment markets.
Until a few years ago, Indian attendance at such events was limited to a few mavericks. Now it is heartening to see a fairly large Indian presence at many of these happenings.
