City-based Next Care today announced its foray into fast growing Rs 1,000 crore deodorant market by launching a range of deodorants here and said it was eyeing Rs 100 crore sales from this segment by 2014.
The company, which has launched deodorants under brand of ‘Next’, has tied up with UAE based largest manufacturer of perfumes and deodorants 'Shirley MAY FZE' for the supply of deodorants exclusively for Indian market.
"The deodorants market in India is fastest growing market. Its total market has reached Rs 1,000 crore and it is expected to reach Rs 2,000 crore in 2012," said Next Care, managing partner, Parminder Sandhu said here today.
The company rolled out eight types of deodorants having price tag of Rs 149 and Rs 159 for men and women.
"Specially designed for Indian weather conditions, 'Next' deodorant range is powered by the advanced CP technology which ensures stability and long lasting fragrance. The propellant being used in deodorants is odourless and they are safe for skin also as perfume compounds used in deodorants is as per International Fragrance Association guidelines," he said.
The company will focus on metro and mini metro cities for marketing of its range of deodorants. "With distribution focus on A and B class outlets in towns with population of 40,000 and above. Our mission is to achieve annual sales of Rs 100 crore by 2014," he said.
For distribution of deodorants, it has engaged 27 super stockiest and 793 distributors catering to 1.20 lakh retail outlets in the country, he said.
The company will also be launching its range of deodorants in West Asia, US, UK and European countries in its next phase.
Next Care is a part of Gouri Group and is also into manufacturing of perfumes and it has facility in Baddi. Gouri Group is into ethnic Indian apparels and accessories.
