Total income during the quarter rose to Rs 1,709.89 crore from Rs 1,653.35 crore.
Power generation from all thermal power stations put together stood at 19,988.73 million units (MU) during 2013-14, as against 19,902.34 MU in 2012-13.
The company has formulated a 1,980-Mw coal-based power plant at Uttar Pradesh as a joint venture with Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidhyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd and a 250-Mw and 2.25 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) lignite mining-cum-thermal power station at Bithnok in Rajasthan.
It is also formulating on a 4,000-Mw power project at Sirkazhi, Tamil Nadu, which will be taken up in two phases. A 15 MW solar power plant is also on the cards. LOA issued to BHEL for setting up a 10 MW Solar Power Project at Neyveli in April 2014 for a value of Rs 74.60 Crore.
Fund requirement of the above projects will be met from internal accruals and borrowings.
At the end of Twelfth / Thirteenth plan, NLC expects to achieve a lignite mining capacity of 38.85 MTPA compared to a present capacity of 30.60 MTPA. After 10 years NLC will have a total generating capacity of about 11,195 MW against the present capacity of 2740 MW.
