State-run hydro power giant NHPC has awarded an order of Rs 287.48 crore for setting up 50 Mw solar power capacities at Theni and Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu to Larson and Tubro Ltd.

"An EPC contract for the development of 50 Mw Solar PV grid connected project located at Theni and Dindigul district in Tamil Nadu has been awarded to Larson & Tubro, L&T Construction, Manapakkam, Chennai for an amount of Rs 287.48 crore with comprehensive operation and maintenance for 10 years," NHPC said in a BSE filing today.

According to the statement, the project is anticipated to be completed in nine months.

RaysExperts commissions 5.5 Mw solar project 

Solar energy solution provider RaysExperts today announced the commissioning of 5.5 Mw solar project for an Indian PSU.

"The plant is projected to generate electricity worth over Rs 25 crore which will be sold to third parties via a solar PPA agreement," a company statement said.

With RaysExperts, the company is venturing into solar energy with its first ever solar plant, which will be situated in Charanka Solar Park, Gujarat.

Rahul Gupta, Founder, RaysExperts said, "We are looking forward to our association as this PSU forays into solar power with our 5.5 Mw solar project. As a sustainable source of power, the plant will help the client reduce the carbon footprint in already polluted industrial regions of Gujarat by eliminating over 6,700 metric tonnes CO2 every year."

Voda partners Meru, Easy, Mega cabs to reach out to customers 

Vodafone has partnered with taxi service providers Meru, Easy and Mega cabs to provide 4G sim to its customers in Delhi NCR.

"Vodafone Delhi-NCR, has tied up with Meru, Easy and Mega cabs to assist commuters to upgrade their existing SIM card to 4G SIM," the company said in a statement.

The existing subscriber of Vodafone will have to send an SMS with 19-20 digit number of new sim to 55199 and follow the process thereafter to activate the sim.

Vodafone has refurbished nearly 500 cabs into 4G SIM mobile dispensers for this service

The company is also offering 4GB free data for 10 days for prepaid customers and 4GB till the bill cycle for post- paid customers.

NHPC aims to generate 24 billion units power this fiscal 

State-run NHPC is eyeing generation of 24 billion units of electricity this fiscal under a pact with power ministry.

The hydro power producer NHPC has inked a pact with Ministry of Power today for the year 2017-18, a company statement said.

The company has set generation target under excellent rating at 24,000 Million Units as against last year's target of 23,500 MU.

The excellent targets for revenue from operations has been kept as Rs 7,350 crore, operating profit as a percentage of revenue from operations (Net) has been kept as 25.09 per cent and profit after tax/ average net worth has been kept as 7.15 per cent.
