NHPC commissions 120-Mw Sewa II plant in J&K

State-run hydro power generator NHPC today said that it has commissioned its 120-Mw plant, Sewa II, in Jammu and Kashmir.

NHPC has commissioned all the three units of the 120-Mw (40x3Mw) Sewa II hydro-electric project, a company statement said.

"With this... The installed capacity of NHPC has gone up to 5,295 Mw," NHPC CMD S K Garg said.

Sewa-II is the third project commissioned by NHPC in the current plan period, in addition to the 510-Mw Teesta-V project in Sikkim and 520-Mw Omkareshwar project of NHDC (a joint venture of NHPC and the Madhya Pradesh government) in Madhya Pradesh.
