Nicholas Piramal today reported a consolidated net profit at Rs 53.69 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2006 when compared with Rs 45.6 crore in Q2FY06.According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 654.83 crore from Rs 383.35 crore in Q2FY06.The company, on a stand-alone basis, posted a net profit of Rs 67.06 crore in Q2FY07 as against Rs 54.90 crore in Q2FY06. Total income increased to Rs 442.74 crore from Rs 366.01 crore in Q2FY06."The consolidated results for the current quarter and half year ended September 30, 2006 include the results of NPIL Pharmaceuticals (UK), UK and Torcan Chemical, Canada which were acquired in December 2005 and the Morpeth facility acquired from Pfizer in June 2006. The figures therefore are not strictly comparable," the release added.
