Pune-based IT services and solution company Nihilent Technologies said it is now focused on expanding its business in the UK, US and Austrailan markets.  At present, about 70 per cent of Nihilent's business comes from African region.

Beyond South Africa, Nihilent has expanded its presence in the other African countries like Tanzania, Nigeria and Ghana through strategic partnership. In order to scale its presence in the western market, Nihilent recently announced the acquisition of US-based business intelligence (BI) and SharePoint solutions provider GNet Group, for an undisclosed amount. GNet has expertise in business intelligence services, SharePoint and application development.

Nihilent said it will now be able to enhance its expertise in business intelligence and software application development, especially in the American region.

“This acquisition is a result of GNet Group’s profitability and growth, and its extensive expertise in the business intelligence and analytics space,” said L C Singh, Vice-Chairman and CEO of Nihilent.

Singh added, We are now planning to focus other markets like US, UK and Australia. Currently, we have a fair amount of business in UK. We are now focusing corporate clients in retail, media, telecom and consulting."

In Austraila, Nihilent is looking for an acquisition particularly in the field of digital marketing. It may plan for an IPO in the next two years. It is planning to hire another 400 people across all the locations.

In February 2013, Nihilent has acquired controlling stakes in Malwai based Nico Technologies and is about to enter several other countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Nihilent has also begun to target North Africa through its operations in the Middle East following the natural affinities between corporates in these regions.

Nihilent's strategic partners provide governance, risk management, training and internal audit transformation solutions to organizations. These partnerships are designed to mutually benefit both companies to scale up and grow their business.
