Mining firm NMDC has taken over as the second most valued public sector firm with a market capitalisation of Rs 1,78,054.68 crore replacing power utility NTPC from the position.
At the end of trade on Friday, the market capitalisation of NMDC stood at Rs 1,78,054.68 crore, while NTPC had a valuation of Rs 1,77,648.44 crore.
The country's most valued PSU entity Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) saw its market capitalisation rising to Rs 2,51,509.72 crore at the end of trade today.
The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex today surged 329 points or over two per cent to settle at 14,625.25.
The list of country's top 10 valued firms is topped by Reliance Industries with a market capitalisation of Rs 3,58,432.95 crore, followed by ONGC, NMDC, NTPC.
The other companies in the top 10 club include Bharti Airtel with a valuation of Rs 1,55,594.98 crore, followed by MMTC (Rs 1,37,839 crore), State Bank of India (Rs 1,18,665 crore) and BHEL (Rs 1,06,465 crore).
