Ending the speculation, Progeon Ltd, the BPO company of Infosys Technologies, said that it has no plans to branch out to any other state. |
There was a speculation that the company might set up centres in different parts of India, including Gujarat. |
Progeon also aims at more than doubling its turnover from $17.3 million in the 2003-04 fiscal year to over $31 million by the end of the current fiscal year. |
"For us, it is important to stay close to Infosys. There are no plans to branch out in any other state for the moment. We have a base at Bangalore and Pune and we will like to strengthen these," said Akshaya Bhargava, managing director and chief executive officer of Progeon Ltd said. |
Bhargava said that in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the company has clocked a turnover of $7.2 million. "If we continue at this pace, we will be on track for a turnover of over $31 million," said the Progeon CEO. |
Bhargawa said that Progeon was striving to be a comprehensive solutions provider rather than just a transcripting. "Our voice ratio is less than 20 per cent, far lower than many other BPOs currently operating in India," he said. |
Bhargava added that Progeon today works with 17 customers in 11 languages. |
Progeon, headquartered in the Infosys campus in Bangalore, has a fully secured and networked capacity of 2,000 seats, spread over 100,000 square feet, with a second centre at Pune. Progeon, currently has over 2,500 employees. |
