Fossil energy fuels such as oil, gas and coal are turning more expensive, "... Therefore the wind energy needs no more subsidies," the publication quoted Tanti in an article published in its online edition.

Tanti pointed out that Suzlon Energy, which is one of the world's leading wind turbine maker, could produce electricity for about 3-6 euro cents per kilowatt-hour and wants to press the costs further.

Germany plans to increase its aid for wind energy to 9.2 euro cents per kilowatt-hour from January.

Currently, the state offers a price of eight euro cents each kilo-watt hour to firms producing wind energy.

In 2007, Suzlon had acquired Germany-based Repower.
