The Chhattisgarh government has directed Vedanta Group’s subsidiary, Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd (Balco), to shorten the height of its proposed cancer and research centre in Raipur. The structure design submitted by the company underlined that the building would be 36-metre high.
The matter was referred to the high-rise committee of the Raipur district administration for its approval.
However, a senior administrative officer said the committee took objection over the height of the building for security reasons. The company had been asked to shorten the height of the structure to 26 metre, the official added.
According to the company officials, the decision would have no impact on the project.
