Having announced an investment of $150 million in the next four years to set up a manufacturing unit in the country, telecom handset and equipment major Nokia will hold a board meet in India in May to disclose the details of operations."Nokia has zeroed in on two locations. It is negotiating with the respective state governments on various concessions and guarantees. It will announce the location in the first week of May when the board meets here," IT and communications minister Dayanidhi Maran said today.Asked to elaborate on Nokia's demands for financial concessions and guarantees, Maran said: "The company needs some incentives. On guarantees it is looking for stable environment in terms of policy and infrastructure."Maran had met Nokia chairman and CEO Jorma Ollila in Cannes, and discussed plans for India operations, especially the setting up of manufacturing facilities.The company is also looking for a place with proper airport infrastructure to facilitate its manufacturing operations.Nokia is believed to be considering Chennai, Manesar (Haryana) and Himachal Pradesh, sources said adding a final decision would be taken soon.Maran said Nokia had sought some financial incentives from the centre as well as the states. An inter-ministerial committee comprising officials from the ministry of finance and telecom would look into the issue, and come out with a monthly report on the progress made.
