The net sales of Nokia Group's continuing operations in India dropped from euro 757 million in 2012 to euro 656 million during 2013. Net sales globally too fell on various reasons, including infrastructure, according to the company's annual report.

India ranks fourth among ten major markets in terms of net sales of continuing operations. "We have not cited any factors affecting our performance in specific countries - at country-level some factors may have been more present than others, but we don't have any comments specifically to India," the report said.

Nokia has three continuing businesses -Networks (previously Nokia Solutions and Networks, or NSN), which is in the network business, HERE, which is mapping and location services, and Technologies (previously Advanced Technologies), which is focused on technology development and intellectual property licensing. It reported information on the devices and services business, sold to Microsoft recently, separately in the report, as discontinued operations.

The decline in continuing operations' overall net sales in 2013 was primarily due to lower NSN and HERE net sales. "The decline in NSN net sales was partially due to divestments of businesses not consistent with its strategic focus, as well as the exiting of certain customer contracts and countries," it said.

HERE net sales dropped due to a decline in internal HERE net sales due to lower recognition of deferred revenue related to smartphone sales, partially offset by an increase in external HERE net sales due to higher sales to vehicle customers, the report added.
