Reacting to the allegations made by the Coimbatore district two-wheeler Mechanic Association, which has asked to close the workshops and held a meeting, yesterday, A S Ramachander, Automotive director of Castrol, in a statement yesterday said that there was a huge gap between demand and supply for quality two-wheeler servicing and gap was expected to widen, with around 6-7 million two wheelers being added every year.
CBZ was launched because of a need expressed by motorcycle owners, who were looking for superior quality of servicing and these insights have emerged out of consumer surveys conducted by the organization, over the last two years, he said.
It provided employment opportunities to entrepreneurs -franchisees as well as mechanics. Currently there were 1,00 mechanics working in CBZ across India, he said.
With strong relationship, the company was offering the mechanics the highest quality products and offered several value adds like professional training, health and safety training and tools, road safety training, Ramchander said.

The company was keen to work with the local mechanic comunity to provide training and other tools to to improve the service to two-wheelers owners, he said.
