NPPA revises prices of 174 formulations, three bulk drugs

Drug price regulator National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has revised the price of 174 formulation packs and three bulk drugs.

The drugs whose prices are revised by the regulator includes popular medicines such as insulin, pain killer ibuprofen in various combinations, chloroquine and multivitamin suspensions in bottles, according to the information available on the regulator's website.

The list includes the prices of the medicines marketed in India by companies such as Pfizer, Win-Medicare, Novartis India and Shreya Life Sciences.

Medicines in the list also include four formulations whose price were fixed for the first time by the regulator.

NPPA has also revised the price of three bulk drugs Theophylline, Hydroxy Ethyl Theophyline and Vitamin E Acetate.

The fixed and revised notified prices shall become effective within 15 days from the date of notification in the Official Gazette, the regulator said in a statement.

All formulators utilising these drugs in their scheduled formulations are advised to follow the provisions of Drug Price Control Order, 1995, it added.
