National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) today reported a 30% increase in net profit at Rs 1,781.70 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2005 when compared with Rs 1,365.50 crore in Q3FY05.According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 7,671.50 crore in Q3FY06 from Rs 6,270.60 crore in Q3FY05.The board has declared an interim dividend of 20% (Rs 2 per share), and February 14, 2006 has been fixed as the record date for the payment of dividend, the release added.
