OBC Q2 net up 14% at Rs 271 cr

Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) recorded a 14.31 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 270.80 crore during the second quarter of the financial year as against Rs 236.8 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The banks total income increased to Rs 2800.9 crore as against Rs 2361 crore in the same quarter last year.Net interest income went up 8.21 per cent to Rs 561.94 crore during the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 519.28 crore during the corresponding period year.

During the period net NPA ratios reduced to 0.66 per cent as against 0.86 per cent during the corresponding quarter last year. Capital adequacy ratio of the bank stood at 12.65 at the end of September 30, 2009.

At BSE the company’s shares were trading at Rs 267.3 up 2.83 per cent from the previous close at 1:52 pm.
