Olive Telecom launches 3G pad for Rs 25,000

Ahead of the launch of 3G services in the country, wireless devices maker Oilve Telecom today unveiled a 3G pad with all features of a netbook and a mobile phone, OlivePad, priced at about Rs 25,000.

"The OlivePad-VT100 operates on an android operating system and supports 3.5G, Wi-Fi and bluetooth," a company official said here. The device would be available in the market from next month.

OilvePad is equipped with distinctive features, including flash support, mini USB port, camera and smartphone.

The company expects to sell around 1 lakh units in the first six months of its commercial launch. The company has entered into an agreement with electronics shop Croma centres for selling the notepad.

"With this launch, we are bringing consumers to experience cutting edge technology. The Olive Pad is aimed at today's technology savvy generation who want easy on the move connectivity," Olive telecom Chairman Arun Khanna said.

Olive has opened its research and development centre at Gurgaon.

The company expects USD 250 million as turnover for this fiscal from selling its vide range of products.
