"We have obtained the national patent for electronic ballast since May 2007 and have applied for international patent", Subodh Chandra Rath, managing director, Omtek Electronics Private Ltd said.
Addressing the media persons Rath said, he has sought the patent for seven more energy saving products. Those products will help to save energy in the use of air-conditioning, domestic appliances, pumps and other induction loads.
He claimed an energy saving up to 25 to 30 per cent through the replacement of the old copper chokes with electronic ballast. He said, about 152 Mw can be saved in the state only from lighting. The company manufactures energy saving tube light ballast, T5 lamp ballast and CFL for different uses.
