Borthakur steps in as director (Offshore) at a crucial juncture when ONGC has set ambitious target in augmenting Offshore production

P K Borthakur has taken over as the new director (Offshore) of country’s biggest energy explorer Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) with effect from October 30, said a company statement. Borthakur takes the charge from ONGC CMD Sudhir Vasudeva was the also director (offshore).  

Borthakur steps in as director (Offshore) at a crucial juncture when ONGC has set ambitious target in augmenting Offshore production, in the context of the organization’s Perspective Plan 2030.

P K Borthakur, like his predecessor Vasudeva, is predominantly brought up in the professional nuances of offshore oil engineering. He commands a rich portfolio of experiences in diverse fields of oil production chain. Before being elevated to the Board of India’s flagship explorer ONGC, Borthakur effectively managed India’s biggest oil producing asset Mumbai High and biggest gas asset Basseinm, the company said.
