Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, India's largest oil exploration company, today said that it had notified two new discoveries to the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) taking the total number of discoveries this year to 11.

"The well B-127E-1 was taken up for drilling with the objective of exploring the potential of sands within Panna Formation to the east of B-127 area and the well was drilled down to 2,735 m. Hydrocarbons shows were encountered during drilling of Panna section in various intervals", the company said.

"The testing result of the well has opened the eastern part of B-127 area for further exploration and delineation. Positive testing results of the other objects would also help in incremental value creation for the planned B-127-B-55 cluster", it further added.
