Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), through its offshore marginal fields, is planning to supply gas to Tata Power company's (TPC) Trombay plant and laying of a sub-sea pipeline for it. "A committee has been formed to validate the viability and establish technical feasibility of supply from C series fields to TPS, ONGC officials said. Engineers India has been awarded a contract to study feasibility for the development of the fields and the report is expected by November 2005. The schedule for development of these fields shall also be examined in the study and firmed up after completion of feasibility study, officials said. The committee would also consider laying of sub-sea pipeline connecting the GCS of the C Series gas fields with Uran Procession Unit and on land connection to Trombay TPS. Feasibility of processing 2/2.5 MMSCD of gas from the `C' series fields is also under the purview of the committee.
