ONGC, Rajahmundry begins direct marketing of gas

Sale of 25,000 standard cubic metres of gas per day is scheduled for 3 years to M/s Steel Exchange India Ltd

The Rajahmundry Asset of ONGC has put its new field at 'Kammapalem' for direct gas supply to cater to needs of small industries, a senior company official has said.

P Krishna Rao, ONGC Rajahmundry Assets Group General Manager, turned the valve to begin flow of gas to customers directly yesterday at Kammapalem in Malkipuram Mandal in East Godavari District, a release said.

"From the field, a sale of 25,000 standard cubic metres of gas per day is scheduled for three years to M/s Steel Exchange India Ltd, as is allocated as per the norms of MoPNG," Rao said.

He said Rajahmundry Asset has identified 18 fields for direct marketing including the present one.

"The policy environment is a Win-Win arrangement for ONGC and customers," the release quoted Rao as saying.
