In the first of its kind initiative in the country, Gharbari.com, an online property portal, will bring in a builder-rating system for the developers, a move expected to increase the efficiency and transparency of the players in the real estate sector based on the feedback of the existing customers.

“We are planning to introduce a rating system based on the feedback of the existing customers of the real estate companies. We feel that the customers are the best judges of the performance of the players in the housing sector,” said D S Tripathy, chief executive officer, Gharabari.com.

Builders will be rated on the basis of quality of construction, execution of projects and handing over of possession of the flats to the customers, etc.

Besides informing the prospective buyers about the developers, the system will help the sellers to promote their goodwill, credibility and performances so as to attract more customers.

“Such a mechanism will help the new customers to choose the builders based on their past record with regard to cost, quality of construction and timely delivery of properties,” Tripathy added.

He said, the system will bring down the number of illegal activities in the realty sector like multiple selling, fake transaction and apprise the customers about the details of the plots and upcoming new projects of different builders.
