The joint venture (JV) agreement to be signed between the Orissa government and GAIL for Rs 5,000 crore natural gas pipeline is set to be finalised soon. The 1,500 km pipeline stretching from Surat to Paradip, will cover 400 km in Orissa. In addition to this, the 1,100-km Kakinada-Howrah pipeline which is under construction, is set to cover 434 km in the state. The pipeline would pass through two small ports of Dhamara and Gopalpur and some major towns such as Angul and Sambalpur.
