OTIS elevators for Hyderabad metro

Heavy duty elevators and escalator will be fabricated in OTIS factories at Guangzhou in China

L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (LTMRHL) has awarded elevators and escalators contract for the metro project to OTIS Elevator Company (India) Limited. The value of the contract is over Rs 400 crore.

The letter of award was signed and exchanged by LTMRHL chief executive and managing director, V B Gadgil, and MD of OTIS, Sebi Joseph.  These will be fabricated in OTIS factories at Guangzhou  in China.

OTIS will also maintain the lifts and escalators for 10 years after the two-year warranty period, for which a separate maintenance contract is being entered with the company.

“As of now we are well within our time frame of executing the project. We have successfully accomplished placing all major equipment contracts as per schedule,” Gadgil stated in a press release here on Tuesday.
