An increase in excise duty levy as well as price corrections to expand its key feminine hygiene category pulled down the net profit of Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare (PGHHCL) by 39.21 per cent to Rs 31 crore for the quarter ended September 30. A year ago, PGHHCL’s net profit was Rs 51 crore. Net sales, on the other hand, grew by a per cent only to touch Rs 228 crore against Rs 225 crore a year ago.
