Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care, the Indian arm of Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble, reported a 26 per cent rise in sales at Rs 172.43 crore during the third quarter ended March 31, 2005, against sales of Rs 137.27 crore recorded in the corresponding period of last financial year.
 
The company's core health care and feminine hygiene businesses grew by 10 per cent to Rs 88.28 crore as against sales of Rs 80.27 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Sales in non-core categories also increased by 48 per cent, mainly driven by the inter-company detergent business.
 
The company reported a profit after tax of Rs 14.66 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005. This includes a royalty payment of Rs 6.67 crore on health care products for the period of July-December, 2004.
 
Excluding this royalty amount, the company's profit after tax grew by 5 per cent over the corresponding period last year. The company's 'Whisper' feminine hygiene business sales grew by 13 per cent to Rs 46.50 crore against Rs. 41.30 crore recorded in the corresponding period of last fiscal.
 
Ramco in the red, Q4 loss at Rs 30 cr
 
Ramco Systems has recorded a net loss of Rs 30.03 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2005 as against a net profit of Rs 4.20 crore registered in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2004. Total income increased 1.44 per cent to Rs 34.9 crore (Rs 34.4 crore).
 
For the year ended March 31, 2005, Ramco reported a net loss of Rs 40.36 crore versus the Rs 33.26 crore net loss that it suffered for the year ended March 31, 2004. Total income for the year ended March 31, 2005, witnessed an increase of 42.90 per cent at Rs 122.78 crore when compared to the Rs 85.91 crore it earned for the year ended March 31, 2004.
 
Tube Investments net up to Rs 37 cr
 
Tube Investments announced a net profit of Rs 37.06 crore in the last quarter of 2004-05, up 1.14 per cent in comparison with Rs 36.64 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. The board has recommended a dividend of 70 per cent on equity shares (face value Rs 10).
 
The total revenue in the last quarter of 2004-05 was Rs 413.07 crore, an increase of 17.03 per cent over earlier year's total revenue of Rs 352.05 crore.
 
For the financial year 2004-05, the net profit was Rs 98.55 crore, higher by 19.46 per cent over the earlier year's net profit of Rs 82.49 crore. The total revenue for 2004-05 was Rs 1,468.72 crore, up by 24.04 per cent over the previous year's total revenue of Rs 1,184.06 crore.
