Panasonic India, a leading electronics company, will focus on strengthening its presence in Orissa. It plans to expand its existing dealership substantially while making innovative and cost effective products available in the state market.
While the number of dealers will be increased to more than 400 by end of August from 175 at present, the number of exclusive ‘Panasonic Brand Shop’ will be increased to 5 in the state from 2 at present.
“We have two Panasonic Brand Shops in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and three more such shops are planned in Orissa in next couple of months”, Kotresh Jali, deputy sales head (south and east) told the media persons. The new brand shops which sell only Panasonic products only will come up in Bhubaneswar (the second shop), Berhampur and Rourkela.
The company is eyeing a sales turnover of Rs 40 crore in Orissa during the current fiscal and hopes LCD and Plasma television to contribute a major share in the business. Besides, the refrigerator and washing machines segment are proposed to be strengthened.
He said, the company is giving priority on eco-friendly and energy efficient products. As a measure in that direction plasma television, washing machines, refrigerators and blue ray disc player are being launched in Orissa.
