Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMR) will constitute a committee to solve issues related to compensation and payments for GVM (government vested municipal) lands to be used for the project. The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the constitution of the committee.
Around 1,262 properties will be affected due to the immediate road widening to build the three corridors (around 9 km of narrow road stretch). HMR and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) have identified around 140 properties, including private buildings, small houses and shops, that come under the GVM land. “The payment for the land and the structural compensation for these GVM properties have become a major hurdle,” HMR said in a release on Tuesday.
