Pankaj Patel of Cadila is GCCI chief

Pankaj Patel of Zydus Cadila has been chosen as the 51st president of the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry(GCCI).
 
Soon after his appointment at the annual general meeting of GCCI, Pankaj said, Infrastructure in terms of road, power, land for economic development, electricity and water will be top priority issues for the organisation.
 
"Besides, providing world class education, health and welfare of women, promoting agro commodities and boosting public-private partnership will be our areas of focus," Patel added.
 
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, speaking on the ocassion, said, '' I wish that GCCI spreads its activities internationally, so that it can serve the Gujarati dispora better."
 
About the serial blasts that rocked Mumbai on Tuesday, he said, "It is an unfortunate incident. I had drawn the prime minister's attention in the past about terrorists fanning out from Kashmir to various states of India."
 
"Unlike everyone else, I would not like to blame the government for this. The time has come for the entire nation to stand united against such forces," Modi said.
 
"I have sent a letter to the PM, urging him to have a meeting of chief ministers of all the states to get a better view of terrorist activities happening in various parts of the county, Modi further said.
