Pantaloon Retail (India) will invest Rs 100 crore in information technology over the next three years as part of its plans to revamp the IT infrastructure of the group and has entered into a partnership with business software solutions provider SAP for the purpose."To support our growth and maintain our competitive edge,a robust and futuristic it infrastructure has been planned forthe next three years with investments of over Rs 100 crore.Our strategic partnership with SAP, a world leader in businesssoftware solutions provider is our first step in realising ourit vision," Pantaloon retail's chief financial officer ChinarDeshpande said in a release today.The IT plan of the company is for its lifestyle and valueretail businesses. As per the roadmap, SAP will implement itsMysap business suite, SAP advanced planning tool for merchandise planning and SAP apparel & footwear solutionswhich would be implemented across the organisation.The Rs 100 crore investment for IT infrastructure revampwill be mainly in the areas of hardware, software, businessconnectivity infrastructure such as virtual private network,video conferencing and skilled it manpower."The new cutting edge it infrastructure will help in serving our customers better, give us improved customer insights and add value to the business on the whole,"Deshpande added.
