Paper Products H1 net rises 14%

Paper Products, a flexible packaging company, reported a 14 per cent rise in net profit during the first half of the calendar year 2008 on higher realisations in specialised products.

The company reported a net profit of Rs 13.41 crore the period ending June 30, 2008 as against Rs 11.74 crore in the corresponding period last year. Net sales stood at Rs 330.64 crore, a growth of 21.8 per cent as against Rs 271.55 crore last year.

Jai Corp net profit drops 38%

Anand Jain-promoted Jai Corp on Thursday announced a decline in its net profit at Rs 21 crore for the quarter ended June 30, a 38 per cent decrease as compared with Rs 34 crore in the corresponding period last year, Jai Corp said. The total income rose to Rs 121.46 crore in the first quarter of FY’09 from Rs 87.47 crore in the year-ago period.

BEML Q1 net loss at Rs 17 cr

Engineering major Bharat Earth Movers on Thursday announced a net loss of Rs 17.43 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2008 as against a net profit of Rs 23.59 crore in the corresponding period a year-ago. Total income declined by 24 per cent to Rs 309.04 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 406.96 crore, it said.
