Patni appoints Fred Cohen group VP

IT and BPO services provider Patni Computer Systems today said its has appointed financial sector veteran Fred Cohen as the group's Vice President to head its global asset management business.

Cohen, who has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry that includes Thomson Financial and Lehman Brothers, would work from Patni's North American head office in Cambridge, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Patni's Asset Management Practice works in line with financial services firms, including mutual fund companies, hedge funds and banks, in developing their business processes to reduce market risk.

Earlier this month, Patni had appointed Jeya Kumar as the Chief Executive Officer to align the company's operations.

Patni was trading at Rs 132.10, marginally down by 0.53 per cent on the BSE.
