Auto company Mahindra & Mahindra today said its automotive division President Pawan Goenka will also head the company's farm equipment sector with effect from April 1, 2010.
The company said Goenka will take charge of the additional responsibility after the retirement of Anjanikumar Choudhari on March 31, 2010, who is currently holding the position.
"Automotive sector President Pawan Goenka will assume the additional responsibility of the Farm Equipment Sector, and will be re-designated as the President - Automotive and Farm Equipment Sector with effect from April, 2010," Mahindra & Mahindra said in a statement.
Choudhuri's tenure at the Mahindra group spans a decade and in the last five years he has worked with the company holding his current position, it added.
"Taking on the mantle of both the sectors, Goenka will continue the customer-centric market focus and global business growth of the two independent businesses, while aggressively exploiting the existing and potential synergies between the two sectors," Mahindra Group Vice Chairman and Managing Director Anand Mahindra said.
