The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday awarded the title sponsorship rights to Paytm for the upcoming T20 International matches between India and West Indies to be played in Florida (USA).

In an advisory released by the governing body for cricket in India, BCCI president Anurag Thakur said, “We are delighted to extend our association with Paytm. This will further strengthen partnership with our existing partner and is a testimony to the fact that our partners believe in BCCI’s initiative of reaching out to newer audiences and markets.”
BCCI honorary secretary Ajay Shirke said, “We have always respected our relationship with existing partners. This announcement of Paytm coming on-board reflects the strong bond we share with our partners. We are pleased to extend our association with them.”

We have a long standing commitment to the great game of cricket and I am sure these two matches will enhance the popularity of the game in India and abroad. West Indies are the world T20 champions while we are also a T20 powerhouse and these two matches will provide a thrilling contest."

The broadcast rights for the two matches lie with Star India. The Uday Shankar led network acquired the rights for an estimates Rs 32 crore. Paytm’s investment for the two matches is not, but its earlier four year contract (starting July 2015) includes an investment of Rs 203 crore, which includes title sponsorship for all domestic tournaments and international matches featuring India on Indian soil.
