Global learning company has selected IBM as its strategic technology partner to deliver customized e-learning solutions to more than 22,000 classrooms across India. Both the companies have entered into a five-year agreement.
According to the company, the strategic partnership with IBM will help advance Pearson's strategy to become the leading provider of innovative e-learning solutions of India's educational system. In the coming years, Pearson India plans to exponentially grow its footprint in the K-12 segment by enhancing and creating new digital classroom offerings for Indian schools.
As part of the engagement, IBM will implement Life Cycle Maintenance solution that will enable Pearson to rapidly expand their reach and ensure their IT operations are well maintained and function without any disruption. This includes supply, installation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure in these classrooms.
Srikanth Iyer, Business Head & Senior Vice President, Schools business, Pearson India said, "Our aim is to create new models that leverage the latest technologies and expand access to educational resources and increase student engagement with digital content; ultimately improving learning outcomes in schools countrywide."
