PEC invites bids for import of 22,500 tn of pulses

State-run PEC has invited bids for the import of 22,500 tonnes of pulses for the delivery between August and November.     

Bids will close on July 23 and the decision on the tender will be taken by July 31, the company said on its website.     

Bidders should source 10,000 tonnes of tur (yellow lenthils), 6,500 tonnes of chana (check peas), 4,000 tonnes of moong (green gram) and 2,000 tonnes of dun peas from Australia, China, Myanmar, Tanzania and Malawi, PEC detailed.     

Imported pulses should be from the crop season of 2009 and shipments should reach Indian ports at Mumbai, Chennai and Tuticorin between August and November, it added.     

The bidder should quote for the entire quantity of each variety for a particular port, the guidelines said.     

In a separate tender PEC has invited bids for the sale of 3,100 tonnes of imported pulses lying in the godowns of Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Vishakapatnam.     

Bids for these will close on July 22 and the decision on the same will be taken by July 29, it said.
