Punjab Energy Development Agency’s (PEDA) proficiency in the area of renewable energy was nationally recognised as the Union government today decided to allocate the work of installation of renewable energy systems at the most prestigious building in the country — the Presidential estate at New Delhi.
It was done after the successful commissioning of the 80 KWP Solar Photovoltaic Rooftop Power Plant at Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi, by the PEDA.
Giving the details Viswajeet Khanna, Secretary Science & Technology said that for successfully executing the Presidential Estate project, a joint team of PEDA and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) officers would visit the Presidential estate and then a detailed project report (DPR) would be prepared for installation of Renewable Energy Systems.
Commenting on the 80KWP Solar Photovoltaic Rooftop Power Plant at Parliament House Annexe, Khanna added that the project of 80KWP Grid Interactive Solar Power Plant at Parliament House Annexe was a challenging task for PEDA but the Agency despite time and security constraints was able to execute the project successfully. He said that as part of the Renewable Energy Systems to be installed, a 2000 LPD Solar Water Heating System had also been commissioned which was providing hot water to the kitchen of the Parliament House Annexe, Canteen.
