Peesh Venture Capital launches Rs 60-crore fund

The Foundation will award seed grants up to Rs 10 lakh for research projects in spinocerebellar ataxia and body Dysmorphic disorder

US-based Peesh Venture Capital, which invests in disruptive technologies, has launched Peesh Foundation with a Rs 60-crore fund to support research and development (R&D) for incurable disorders such as spinocerebellar ataxia and body dysmorphic disorder.

The fund will offer grants to support R&D and treatment of people suffering from these disorders.

Spinocerebellar ataxia is an inherited disorder of brain function. Body dysmorphic disorder is a disabling but often misunderstood psychiatric condition in which people perceive themselves to be disfigured.

Peesh Foundation will award seed grants up to Rs 10 lakh for spinocerebellar ataxia and body Dysmorphic disorder-related research projects. Grants up to Rs 20 lakh will be considered for early or pilot phases of studies and ongoing investigations.
